I apologize for not responding sooner. I just saw Meredith's obitiuary. My name is Nancy (Watson) Russell and my mom, Dorothy Watson, worked for Meredith for many years at the Moline Public Library. Meredith was always so kind to me and always had a smile for me. My mom loved her dearly. The last time I got to see Meredith was at my mom's funeral service in 2013. I pray for peace for your family and that you have many wonderful memories of her.

Hi, Scott and Lisa and family,
I would call your mom every so often. The last time I tried calling, no one answered. I just tried calling again and they said the phone number had been disconnected. I found her obituary. I am so sorry. Meredith had become a friend. I would visit her when I came into town. She was one of the most caring people I know. She was exactly 11 years younger than my mom. So I always tried to call her on her birthday. Best wishes for all of you. I have fond memories of both of your parents growing up. I remember the garden we had on your grandmother's property.
Take care, Connie (Miller) Borgman

We would like to express our deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. She was a great lady, a 60s mom that always extended a kind word or greeting. My mother and father simply adored her and your father.
You are in our prayers,
Brad Dye and family

Memories, I remember the times "Mrs. Kurtz", I never could call her Meredith even though she told me to a million times to do so and Uncle Chuck would go out with my mom and dad. The two best friends in the world would laugh about all the things past, present and future that impacted their families. They would talk almost every day and if not, they wouldn't miss a second to catch up on the "goings on" that they may have missed.

Mrs. Kurtz was always a calming influence around others which I'm sure came from her librarian roots. The best was when I decided that running an ax through my shoe when helping Scott chop wood didn't even faze her. She just smoothly handled the situation and on we went with the day. Except there was no more wood chopping for me, then or now, you can learn a lot from a librarian. She will be missed, but she will not be forgotten by those that were lucky enough to be around her.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.
