Obituary

Alan R. Tebbe 79, of Moline, IL, passed away May 24, 2021, in Rock Island, IL.

Services will be Friday, May 28, 2021, at noon with visitation before the service starting at 10 am, Edgewood Baptist Church 2704 - 38th St., Rock Island, IL. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Cemetery.

Alan was born July 26, 1941, in Moline to Alvin and Pearl (Bendt) Tebbe. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1959.

Alan served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963, where he acquired Signal Corp and Electronic training. He was employed by three local companies, Ametek, International Harvester, and Prime Mover as a machine operator, in addition to working 15 years as a part-time auto mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, his dogs and was an avid skier. His decision for when and where he took vacations, his work, were based on his desire to hunt ducks daily.

Al married Karen Humberstone in 1961 and together they had three daughters. In 1980, he married Joyce Trainor of Evansdale, IA; they have been happily married for the past 46 years. Together they traveled frequently and especially enjoyed spending time at their cabin in northern WI, boating, fishing, spending time together and with their friends. Alan was one of a kind and always positive. He never met a person he didn't like and would often help strangers in need.

In addition to his wife, Joyce, survivors include daughters; Michelle Tebbe, Ellensburg, WA, Melissa Tebbe, Moline, IL and Melinda (Mike) Wells, Taylor Ridge, IL. Three granddaughters, Olivia, Kylie, Mikayla, and a sister Eleanor Sims of CO.

Family of Alan Tebbe,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you on Al's passing from this finite realm to the eternal realm. May the Good Lord embrace you all in His arms of comfort. We can all look forward to meeting with Al again at some day known only to God.
I had the pleasure of first meeting Al in the early '80's at a D.U. banquet in Moline. He was a very outgoing guy who made you feel like you were a longtime friend. Learned a lot about waterfowl hunting from talking with Al, as well as others to whom I was introduced to through him. I always enjoyed chatting with him when he would stop by the Illinois Waterfowlers Alliance booth at the QCCA Outdoors shows as well as at later shows. Al always had an upbeat attitude. Never have I ever met someone who enjoyed hunting Bluebills as much Al!
I regret that that I won't be able to be there Friday, as we are out of town, but you will all be in my prayers on that day.
